Sorry to hear your update from the hospital. Not a good start with the CFS leak. I hope you are getting well looked after and you get sorted asap.

Love and hugs.

Have been following your recent traumas on FB. I have stopped posting on FB with all the trouble recently in RAI.

Sorry that your knee replacement has been postponed and that the lumbur puncture has caused you more problems.

Hope you get sorted soon and more importantly you manage to get back to your family, although I am sure the hospital now feels like your second home.

Keep your chin up and I am sure all will be sorted soon.

Jennie hope you get the blood patch soon. Just to say I'm three weeks on from dural tear and fluid leak and there is life after the headache, just don't cough or your brain will feel like it rattling on the inside of your head. But day by day things do improve once they have the leak sorted.
Hears hoping that the knew knee won't be too far along the line and that you are back home soon.
Best wishes
Sheila

I am so sorry to read that you failed on the epidural. That is really heart breaking. When I had my knee done they took over an hour to get the epidural in and several anaesthetists. I have osteo in my back and collapsed vertebrae. I was more in pain with my back than the knee when I came around.

We suffer from a horrid disease and life sometimes is just not fair.

I am hoping for you that being at home and resting will help the leak sort itself out. Take heart. I know you are strong and you will get there.

Just to update you
The blood patch failed
They couldn't get the epidural in
The space is too tight and because of the RA my spine has become twisted

The needle did cause severe pain into my pelvis and shoulders and then it felt burning in my ear underarms and neck
Then the alarms bleeped and I passed out

I woke up and cried and cried
They had to get all the needle out quickly which they did without issue

The very kind theatre staff held my hand
The anaesthetist came to see me and wiped my tears and said this time Jenni we didn't win
He's very experienced but just
Oh
What a mess

So
The hospital can offer me another attempt
Or another go at X-ray guided but this time as an epidural
But you'll prob think I'm a whimp but I just couldn't face it all again

I am slllllooooowly getting better
The CFS will stop leaking in time

I have come home
I'm sitting for short periods
And then lying down

In lots of back pain shooting into my hip / pelvis last night but took morphine

No sign of knee replacement until this has settled obviously

This whole episode has shown me how very damaged my back has become due to ra
I've seen the rheummy team briefly
I need to see them again when I'm well enough to drive
Had hoped the knee replacement would fix my back enough to stand but I know now that this is not the case

I hate this disease
It gets everywhere

Oh Jennie , you are wonder woman coping with all that, just being at home with some TLC for a bit before deciding upon what next will give you some strength, if thoughts and wishes could nake the pain go away you would be pain free by now. I hope the morphine gives you some respite and am glad you are home.
With every best wish

Thank you girls

I have got severe RA and I know this is like 3% of RA-ers who get this
I don't want anyone reading this this giving up hope

I am NOT giving up hope
Just going to have to let things settle

Thanks for saying I wasn't wimping out- I felt like I'd failed
The theatre assistant said with that much pain- I wouldn't have been right to continue

I've had a lovely set of cuddles with little berny Michael and my hubby
Settling down to fish cakes for dinner

I need all the encouragement I can get today :)

Oh, Jenni, Jenni, Jenni.......you haven't failed......the drugs have failed you.

I didn't lie when I said I was in tears......I was....I've been on this forum since 2008 and I've read what this stupid disease has thrown at you, it's just not fair, it's not fair at all. Why should someone so brave and caring as you suffer like this, when there is so many evil people in the world that nothing happens to? It's just not bloody fair at all. I'm so annoyed for you, it looked like at last you were going to have your knee done, the last minute wobbles about your bloods got sorted and then when you/we thought that things at last were going right for you, bang this happens I don't know who I am annoyed at, there's no one to blame apart from this stupid, stupid disease....rant over....sorry!

I know what you will do Jenni.....what you always do in these circumstances.....you will, as the song says.......pick yourself up, dust yourself off and start all over again.

You've got so much courage, when others would of given up, you'll come out fighting again.

Enjoy your cuddles and fish cakes.

Hoping for a pain free night for you.

Love Paula xx

I'm not a hands together, eyes closed sort of person, but I hope with all my heart that things get better for you soon, so yes Jenni, I am praying for you and I am sure that all of us on here will be in one form or another. xx

Paula, I totally agree with everything you've said above. Jenni, you are a brave woman in my book. You go through so much and you keep getting back up again and fighting it all head on. I do hope you start to feel better soon and the knee surgery can get back on track xxxxx

Morning Jenni....hope today is a better day for you.

I kept thinking about you most of last night and wondering how you were.

I think that your RA fight is like a boxing match...Mr RA Man being your opponent. You may of lost this round, you have retreated back to your corner and are getting lots of TLC, then you will get up and fight another round and will eventually win.

We are all there for you, cheering at the ropes, willing you to win. You only fail Jenni, when you give up the fight and I know that you won't do that. You will take it on the chin like you always do, its another set back, but when you are ready you will come back with more fight in you than before. You are so courageous and brave. I wish you could bottle it and sell it because you would be a millionaire if you could.

Much Love

Paula x

I'm doing alright, really

I've so enjoyed being home these last couple of days
I'm sitting for 22-25 mins now and I've had a shower so I'm a clean girl at least

I'm trying to organise things for tomorrow afternoon
Got Richard home in the morning
Then My PA IS HOMe wth me til 4
But my older son gets home at 5.15 on the bus so bernice can sit with me and read her book and have a play
I've got the recliner set up in the garden and our room looks out on the decking and the lounges sofa has a recliner thingy

So we are going to be ok
It's just an hour really

I've got to try and get my head round all the diary things
Oh i like feeling useful !

Much love xx

Just caught up with this tread Jenni. I agree with everything the others have said. I mostly just lurk in the background but I have always admired the way you have coped cheerfully with so much. Life is just not fair. I do hope things start to improve and you get your new knee. For now sit in the sun (ever the optimist -me!) and enjoy your family.

I was a busy bee and ran operations from the bed

Bernice did enjoy having mummy all to herself
They've had the farm come to visit them in reception class and she told me about the guinea Big that is little
And the chicken that pecked teachers shoe and the highlight of the afternoon the sheep did a Poo!
Marvellous :)

She's loving having time telling mummy and cuddles

I did some eBay stuff
The saying the going gets tough the tough go shopping is true round ere

Love to all xx
